Application of the Whatever

I would like to present some of my favourite applications or tools. Programs that are not very well known, but are very helpful for me.
My first thought was to name this category 'Application of the Month'. But this would imply that I present another application every month. History teached me, that I use this blog too occasionaly, so well... Application of the Month, of the Quarter, of the Year,... of the Whatever.
