Using Blogilo with Serendipity

Friday, February 26. 2010

KDE 4.4 comes with a great native editor for your blog: Blogilo. Out of the box it supports Blogger1.0, MetaWeblog, MovableType and Google GData. So Serendipity users may feel left out. However you can use Blogilo with Serendipity anyway since there is the XML-RPC plugin available. You just need to know how to configure it.

First you have to enable the Post via XML-RPCevent plugin in Serendipity. After that you can add your blog to Blogilo. The configuration is pretty straightforward but you have to use a special URL for Serendipity: http://<blog_url>/serendipity_xmlrpc.php. So for my blog this would be http://www.yeap.de/blog2.0/serendipity_xmlrpc.php.

This posting was written with Blogilo.

*I think Serendipity is much easier to use than some. I used to be a wordpress junkie until I found this

    *Hi,
blogilo is a nice piece of software. :-) Great work done by the programmers.
Sadly one piece is missing. Blogilo does not recognize the categories of my site. I use seredipity, too. Does it work at your site?

    Greetings

But thanks also for this blog-post; it's nice to connect blogilo to s9y.
