Are you also using a notebook running a recent distribution that uses a Synaptics touchpad like my HP Compaq nw8240? Are you also frequently annoyed by the scrolling features, especially when using a browser (moving on the right side, scrolls - OK for me, but moving on the bottom moves through the history)? You could disable this by using KSynaptics, however this does not work on recent kernels. You always get the message:
Shared Memory is not accessible. Please add the option 'UseShm "true"' into the touch pad section of /etc/X11/xorg.confWell, you already did that, but it did not help? Here is how you can make it work nevertheless:

Always the Same from Linkin Park?

Today a colleague send me a link to an MP3, where the left channel and the right channel are playing two different songs from Linkin Park. Listen to it and judge yourself. It sound amazingly similar.
But to be fair: There's also another MP3 with two songs from Nickelback with two songs that are as similar as these from linkin park. Simply search for the file nickelbacksucks.mp3.

Once again I had to change me email address due to a heavily increased amount of SPAM. You can reach me at <firstname>.<lastname>@yeap.de (replace everything wihtin the angle brackets by the appropriate words, so that you get an Email address like john.doe@yeap.de).

Back from Vacation in Egypt

I am back from two weeks on vacation in Egypt - anyone noticed? Probably not
But hey... when I tell people, where I have been in the last few days I often get comments like these:
"Weren't you afraid of terrorism?" "Isn't there much lead in the air?" "How does it feel in an Islamic country?"Answers: "No", "No" and "Very Good".
